En ocasiones el camino habitual es más directo, rápido y quizá más seguro pero esta falto de esa incertidumbre que precede a lo nuevo, a lo que en esencia resulta diferente.
La creatividad no es algo que pueda abordarse de frente, es preciso caminar en círculos, dar un rodeo, perderse en un territorio desconocido. Quizá creamos que perdemos el tiempo o que lo que hacemos nos desvía de nuestro objetivo pero en realidad esta sucediendo todo lo contrario estamos vaciando un espacio que normalmente llenamos de reglas y métodos acerca de lo que ya conocemos, de manera que lo nuevo, lo diferente no puede hacer acto de presencia.
Estos papeles de mixed media son un claro ejemplo de este sano ejercicio que puede extrapolarse a la vida misma.
Con la intención de obtener cierta inspiración para una nueva técnica de arcilla polimérica, pero lejos de querer utilizar el convencional boceto a lápiz, Fabi ha decidido aproximarse a su diseño utilizando la técnica mixta.
Utilizando papeles previamente creados por ella inspirándose fundamentalmente en motivos naturales, ha creado estos cuadernos collage de temas variados para utilizar durante el proceso creativo.
En lugar de experimentar directamente con arcilla, lo cual suele resultar menos eficaz y económico, Fabi ha creado pequeños espacios de imaginación en cada página de este cuaderno de los cuales poder posteriormente extraer utilizando patrones el diseño final de la pieza de arcilla. Es entonces cuando podemos trabajar directamente en la arcilla, transfiriendo el diseño original a la pieza final.
Se trata de un proceso más largo y lento cuya dificultad estriba principalmente en la combinación del color y la fuente de inspiración. Lleva mucho trabajo pero los resultados son sorprendentes.

Sometimes the usual path is more direct, faster and perhaps safer, but it is lacking in that uncertainty that precedes the new, which is essentially different.
Creativity is not something that can be tackled head on, you have to walk in circles, take a detour, get lost in an unknown territory. We may think that we waste time or that what we do deviates from our goal but in reality it is happening quite the opposite we are emptying a space that we normally fill with rules and methods about what we already know, so that the new, the different can’t make an act of presence.
These mixed media roles are a clear example of this healthy exercise that can be extrapolated to life itself.
With the intention of obtaining some inspiration for a new polymer clay technique, but far from wanting to use the conventional pencil sketch, Fabi has decided to approach her design using the mixed technique.
Using roles previously created by her, inspired mainly by natural motifs, she has created these collage notebooks of varied themes to use during the creative process.
Instead of experimenting directly with clay, which is usually less efficient and less economical, Fabi has created small spaces of imagination on each page of this notebook from which she can subsequently extract using patterns the final design of the clay piece. That’s when we can work directly on the clay, transferring the original design to the final piece.
It is a longer and slower process whose difficulty lies mainly in the combination of colour and source of inspiration. It takes a lot of work but the results are amazing.
