Poemarios

  Today we bring you a new way of bookbinding, a mix between a box and a cover which hides a small poem book illustrated by Fabi inside.

The bindings are inspired in the Australian landscape and are being created using polymerclay, mixed media papers and some metal details. Fabi has done them with some much love and caring, paying attention to every detail inside and outside.

These are three samples of a series of ten in total, specifically created with “earth” and “sea” motifs.

The dimension of each piece is 23cm length, 14cm width and 2,5cm height.

The following weeks we will bring the rest of them, inspired on the same concept.

Hoy os traemos una nueva forma de encuadernación, una mezcla entre una caja y una tapa que esconde un pequeño libro de poemas ilustrado por Fabi en su interior.

Las encuadernaciones están inspiradas en el paisaje australiano y se están creando utilizando arcilla polimérica, papeles mixtos y algunos detalles metálicos. Fabi los ha hecho con mucho amor y cariño, prestando atención a cada detalle por dentro y por fuera.

Estas son tres muestras de una serie de diez en total, creadas específicamente con motivos de "tierra" y "mar".

La dimensión de cada pieza es de 23cm de largo, 14cm de ancho y 2,5cm de alto.

Las siguientes semanas vamos a traer el resto de ellos, inspirados por el mismo concepto.

Cuaderno "Dune"

   As many of you already know, one of Fabi´s favorite artwork is always related to notebooks and drawing. She loves to create books full of imaginary landscapes and creatures that catch the eye with its powerful colors and unusual shapes.

In this case it is a watercolor base on which she has drawn some imagined worm motifs that could remember those sandworms from the novel and recent movie “Dune”. 

She has used three different pencils (red, blue and black) to add color and also has created another two from those three principals to give to the drawing a more complex appearance. 

Her art process usually includes this kind of technique. She starts from a watercolor curtain from where she extracts the motifs by covering the main layer with different material colors or textures. It seems as if the final artwork was already there and that she just had to surround it and fence it to make it appear to the eye and bring it to life.

Como muchos de vosotrx ya sabéis, muchos de los trabajos favoritos de Fabi siempre están relacionados con los cuadernos y el dibujo. Le encanta crear libros llenos de paisajes imaginarios y criaturas que llaman la atención con sus colores poderosos y formas inusuales. 

En este caso se trata de una base de acuarela sobre la que ha dibujado algunos motivos de gusanos imaginarios que podría recordar a los gusanos de arena de la novela y reciente película "Dune". 

Ha utilizado tres lápices diferentes (rojo, azul y negro) para agregar color y también ha creado otros dos de esos tres colores principales para dar al dibujo una apariencia más compleja. 

Su proceso artístico generalmente incluye este tipo de técnica. Comienza con una `cortina´ de acuarela desde donde extrae los motivos cubriendo la capa principal con diferentes colores de materiales o texturas. Pareciera que la obra de arte final ya estuviera allí y que solo tuviera que rodearla y cercarla para hacerla nacer a la vista y así cobrar vida.

Jogging en los pinares

aFabi loves to disconnect from work by doing some exercise, such as jogging through a nearby pine forest. Especially beautiful at this time of year along with other trees, shrubs and plants. 

The whole gives the air a particular perfume that helps to clear the mind and relax the body. Undoubtedly this is also an important part of the creative process, observing nature and receiving its energy is undoubtedly a great source of inspiration.

Do not miss the opportunity to take a walk in nature this weekend!

A Fabi le encanta desconectar del trabajo haciendo algo de ejercicio, como por ejemplo yéndose a hacer jogging por un bosque de pinares cercano. Especialmente bonitos en esta época del año junto a otros árboles, arbustos y plantas. 

Todo el conjunto da al aire un perfume particular que ayuda a despejar la mente y relajar el cuerpo. Sin duda ésta también es una parte importante del proceso creativo, observar la naturaleza y recibir su energía es sin duda una gran fuente de inspiración.
