Prague, a Chronicle of a Creative Weekend

 We’ve just returned from an unforgettable weekend in Prague teaching the Floral Contrast technique.

Two days filled with color, inspiration, and great energy shared with students from the Czech Republic, Romania, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.

We reunited with familiar faces and met new people full of incredible energy. Between laughter, focus, and lots of polymer clay, everyone brought their own unique interpretation to the technique.

A huge thank you to Annamaria for her help with translation and logistics. Her support made everything flow perfectly.

On Sunday we wrapped up the workshop with a **raffle of three exclusive pieces** and a small exhibition and sale featuring some of my latest creations. It was moving to see the quantity and quality of the finished works, and to feel the connection that grows when we share creativity and passion.

We’re taking home beautiful memories, new friendships, and the wish to meet again next year with a new technique and many surprises.

Praga, crónica de un fin de semana creativo

Acabamos de regresar de un fin de semana inolvidable en Praga impartiendo la técnica Floral Contrast. Han sido dos días llenos de color, inspiración y buen ambiente junto a alumnas de la República Checa, Rumanía, Reino Unido e Irlanda.

Nos reencontramos con caras conocidas y conocimos nuevas personas con una energía increíble. Entre risas, concentración y mucha arcilla polimérica, cada una dio vida a su propia interpretación de la técnica.

Agradecer a Annamaria, por su ayuda con la traducción y la logística del espacio. Su apoyo hizo que todo fluyera a la perfección.

El domingo cerramos el curso con un sorteo de tres piezas exclusivas y una pequeña exposición y venta con algunas de mis últimas creaciones. Fue emocionante ver la cantidad y calidad de las piezas terminadas, y sentir la conexión que se crea cuando compartimos creatividad y pasión.

Nos llevamos recuerdos preciosos, nuevas amistades y el deseo de volver a encontrarnos el próximo año con una nueva técnica y muchas sorpresas.

Nuevo mood!

Today the studio has a brand-new mood!

I went ahead and painted the built-in cabinets, and the result is this burst of color that makes everything feel more creative and inspiring. There are still a few details left to finish, but every corner is starting to tell its own story.

The necklace I’m wearing is from my new Metal Alchemy technique – I can’t wait to share more about it!

Hoy el estudio tiene nuevo mood!

Me lancé a pintar los armarios empotrados y el resultado es este estallido de color que hace que todo se sienta más creativo e inspirador. Aún faltan detalles, pero cada rincón empieza a contar su propia historia.

Susurros de Tela y Papel

 Whispers of Fabric and Paper

Two handmade notebooks, each carrying its own voice. One in painted fabric with flowing lines that recall silent gestures, the other wrapped in paper and fabric with a closure of textile and polymer clay. Both inspired by the landscapes and quiet movements of the Navarre Pyrenees.

The first notebook stretches long, its cover woven entirely from painted fabric. Inside, only the designs are paper, but the skin itself is cloth, brushed with soft colors that recall the landscapes of the Navarre Pyrenees. The lines curve gently, like waves or branches carried by the wind, evoking in my mind the silent gestures of sign language. A trace that speaks in “few words,” brief and precise, like a haiku whispered onto the surface.

The second notebook carries a different character: its body wrapped in a fusion of paper and fabric, secured with a closure made of textile and polymer clay. Once again, the motifs return to nature, echoes of the same mountains, rivers, and paths I walked during those days of quiet exploration.

Each piece is not just binding and cover; it is memory fixed in material, movement made still. A small landscape of silence and patience.

Susurros de Tela y Papel

Dos cuadernos hechos a mano, cada uno con su propia voz. Uno en tela pintada con líneas que evocan gestos silenciosos, el otro forrado en papel y tela con un cierre de textil y arcilla polimérica. Ambos inspirados en los paisajes y los silencios del Pirineo navarro.

El primer cuaderno se alarga en su forma, con la cubierta tejida íntegramente en tela pintada. En el interior, solo los diseños son de papel, pero la piel es de tela, acariciada con colores suaves que recuerdan los paisajes del Pirineo navarro. Las líneas se curvan con suavidad, como olas o ramas llevadas por el viento, evocando en mi imaginación los gestos silenciosos de la lengua de signos. Un trazo que habla en “pocas palabras”, breve y preciso, como un haiku susurrado en la superficie.

El segundo cuaderno tiene un carácter distinto: su cuerpo envuelto en una fusión de papel y tela, asegurado con un cierre de textil y arcilla polimérica. Una vez más, los motivos regresan a la naturaleza: ecos de las mismas montañas, ríos y senderos que recorrí en aquellos días de exploración tranquila.

Cada pieza no es solo encuadernación y cubierta; es memoria fijada en el material, movimiento detenido. Un pequeño paisaje de silencio y paciencia.

Paisajes de papel

  Landscapes of Paper

There is a special silence when I cut paper with a scalpel. A concentration so delicate that even breathing becomes part of the work: inhale, hold, and let the hand trace the next cut with precision.

These pieces are inspired by the mountains of the Navarre Pyrenees, a place that always invites me to observe shapes, textures, and the light hidden among branches, stones, and paths. By bringing it into paper, I try to capture that sense of depth: layers that fold, backgrounds that appear and vanish with the light, as if the landscape itself were breathing inside the work.

Paper cutting is a demanding, almost meditative technique. Every line requires firmness and continuity; every curve, patience and steady pulse. But when the piece unfolds and reveals its play of shadows, the reward is immediate: a small world opens up before your eyes.

These are just a few of the samples I prepare for my Friday classes at the studio. In the next post I will share the finished work.

Paisajes de papel

Hay un silencio especial cuando corto papel con bisturí. Una concentración tan fina que hasta la respiración se convierte en parte de la obra: inhalar, sostener, y dejar que la mano trace con precisión el siguiente corte.

Estas piezas están inspiradas en las montañas del Pirineo navarro, un lugar que siempre me invita a observar las formas, las texturas, las luces que se esconden entre ramas, piedras y senderos. Al llevarlo al papel, busco capturar esa sensación de profundidad: capas que se pliegan, fondos que aparecen y desaparecen según la luz, como si el paisaje respirara dentro de la obra.

El corte en papel es una técnica exigente, casi meditativa. Cada línea requiere firmeza y continuidad; cada curva, paciencia y pulso. Pero cuando la pieza se despliega y revela su juego de sombras, la recompensa es inmediata: un pequeño mundo se abre ante los ojos.

Estas son solo algunas de las muestras que preparo para mis clases de los viernes en el estudio. En la próxima publicación compartiré la obra terminada.

Pirineos navarros

 It’s been an incredible vacation in the Navarre Pyrenees, in the beautiful village of Lecároz.

For 15 days I enjoyed my great passion: hiking. Every day a different route, surrounded by green landscapes, mist, clouds, sunshine, and that fresh air that recharges the soul.

I collected branches, leaves, and stones already full of ideas for my next creations.

We stayed at @hirukabi_apartamentuak, a cozy place run by two lovely sisters, who even surprised us with homemade cuajada. A gesture I will never forget! 🥰

Han sido unas vacaciones increíbles en los Pirineos Navarros, en el precioso pueblo de Lecároz. 


Durante 15 días he disfrutado de mi gran pasión: el senderismo. Cada día una ruta distinta, rodeada de paisajes verdes, niebla, nubes, sol y ese aire fresco que recarga el alma.

He recogido ramas, hojas y piedras que ya están llenas de ideas para mis próximas creaciones. 

Nos alojamos en @hirukabi_apartamentuak, un lugar acogedor llevado por dos hermanas encantadoras, que incluso nos sorprendieron con cuajada casera. ¡Un detalle que nunca olvidaré! 🥰
