Sunday Letter — A space to reflect and share

Every Sunday, my son David and I open a space for reflection and sharing.

We’ve called it Sunday Letter.

One week, he writes.

The next, I do.

The idea behind this project is to show the creative experience from two different perspectives, capable of coming together within a single creative ecosystem.

I write from my own place — reflecting on artistic process, creativity, inspiration, and my lived experience as a woman of art and of life (can the two really be separated?).

David writes from another perspective.

From his experience as a translator — not only of language, but of the entire system that allows an artist to find, express, and care for their own voice and identity.

With care, responsibility, professionalism, and deep understanding, he has always helped me connect my art with the world.

Sunday Letter is born from that dialogue.

From listening.

From respect for rhythm.

And from the belief that creativity needs both sensitivity and structure to be sustained over time.

Carta del Domingo — Un espacio para reflexionar y compartir

Cada domingo, mi hijo David y yo abrimos un espacio para la reflexión y el compartir.

Lo hemos llamado Carta del Domingo.

Una semana escribe él.

La siguiente, escribo yo.

La idea detrás de este proyecto es mostrar la experiencia creativa desde dos perspectivas distintas, capaces de integrarse dentro de un mismo ecosistema creativo.

Yo escribo desde mi lugar: reflexionando sobre el proceso artístico, la creatividad, la inspiración y mi vivencia como mujer del arte y de la vida (¿acaso pueden separarse?).

David escribe desde otro punto de vista.

Desde su experiencia como traductor, no solo del lenguaje, sino de todo el sistema que permite a un artista encontrar, expresar y cuidar su propia voz e identidad.

Con cuidado, responsabilidad, profesionalidad y comprensión, siempre me ha ayudado a conectar mi arte con el mundo.

La Carta del Domingo nace de ese diálogo.

De la escucha.

Del respeto por los ritmos.

Y de la convicción de que la creatividad necesita tanto sensibilidad como estructura para poder sostenerse en el tiempo.

Encuadernación de tintas y pigmentos

 This new notebook grows step by step, little by little.

It is a cumulative work built over months, handmade from scratch, something I return to in quiet moments to slowly add new designs and different explorations.

It is a mixed media notebook where I work with inks and pigments, exploring colors, blends, and transparencies, observing how they react to one another.

Here I experiment with effects, textures, and gradients.

I look for combinations that I can later translat into polymer clay, understand more deeply, and repeat with intention.

This notebook is not just a color archive.

It is a space for research, play, and learning.

Everything that happens here feeds my work and, later on, my classes.

Creating is observing and letting things flow.

And this notebook accompanies that slow, continuous movement.

Este nuevo cuaderno surge paso a paso, poco a poco.

Es un trabajo acumulativo de meses, hecho a mano desde cero, al que vuelvo en ratos tranquilos para ir añadiendo diseños y pruebas distintas.

Es un cuaderno de mixed media donde trabajo con tintas y pigmentos, explorando colores, mezclas y transparencias, observando cómo reaccionan entre sí.

Aquí experimento con efectos, texturas y gradientes.

Busco combinaciones que luego pueda llevar a la arcilla polimérica, entenderlas mejor y repetirlas con intención.

Este cuaderno no es solo un archivo de color.

Es un espacio de investigación, de juego y de aprendizaje.

Todo lo que ocurre aquí alimenta mi trabajo y, más adelante, también mis clases.

Crear es observar y dejar fluir.

Y este cuaderno acompaña ese movimiento lento y continuo.

Botanical Notebook 2 — Color in process

 Here you can see the color process from one page to the next.

This notebook was created as a teaching piece in my studio classes, to clearly show how color evolves, layers build up, and harmony appears step by step.

Each page is stamped with real, natural leaves, using direct botanical printing. No shortcuts, no repetition: every impression is unique, just like the process itself.

Notebook 2 is about observation, patience, and transition — understanding how color breathes across pages and how nature guides each decision.

Botanical Notebook 2 — Color in process 🌿🍂

Aquí puedes ver el proceso del color de una página a la siguiente.

Este cuaderno fue creado como pieza pedagógica para mis clases en el estudio, para mostrar con claridad cómo el color evoluciona, cómo se construyen las capas y cómo la armonía aparece paso a paso.

Cada página está estampada con hojas naturales reales, utilizando impresión botánica directa. Sin atajos, sin repetición: cada impresión es única, igual que el propio proceso.

Notebook 2 trata sobre la observación, la paciencia y la transición, comprender cómo el color respira a lo largo de las páginas y cómo la naturaleza guía cada decisión.

Este cuaderno completo está reservado como contenido exclusivo para quienes desean seguir mi proceso creativo más de cerca y aprenderlo en profundidad en mi estudio.

Today I want to show you this notebook I made using the polymer clay insight colors technique. Each layer is like a secret being revealed

I've always been fascinated by art books. Since I was little, reading images has been my way of understanding the world. My deafness made everything take on a different meaning: I noticed every detail, the shapes, the colors of things. Words never captivated me as much as images did, filling my head with stories and infinite possibilities.

I named it "Inside Out" because it has that depth that invites you to look beyond the surface, like when you open a book and suddenly you're in another world. And you feel things you didn't expect to feel. And those emotions push you to do unpredictable things: start a new project in the middle of the night, draw that sketch you'd been imagining for days...

I love mixing materials and bringing scraps from other projects that could end up in the trash back to life. Everything deserves a second chance, right?

Isolation gave me something precious: hyperfocus. That moment when the world blurs and only your hands, the piece you're creating, and nothing else matters.

This notebook is a bit of all that: searching, surprise, emotion. A language without words that speaks of infinite curiosity and those magical moments when everything finally makes sense.

Hoy quiero enseñaros este cuaderno que he hecho con la técnica de arcilla polimérica insight colors. Cada capa es como un secreto que se va revelando.

Siempre me han fascinado los libros artísticos. Desde pequeña, leer imágenes ha sido mi forma de entender el mundo. Mi sordera hizo que todo cobrara otro sentido: me fijaba en cada detalle, en las formas, en los colores de las cosas. Las palabras nunca me atraparon tanto como las imágenes, que llenaban mi cabeza de historias y posibilidades infinitas.

Lo llamé "Inside Out" porque tiene esa profundidad que te invita a mirar más allá de la superficie, como cuando abres un libro y de repente estás en otro mundo. Y sientes cosas que no esperabas sentir. Y esas emociones te empujan a hacer cosas impredecibles: empezar un proyecto nuevo a las tantas de la noche, dibujar ese boceto que llevabas días imaginando...

Me encanta mezclar materiales y darle vida a restos de otros proyectos que podrían acabar en la basura. Todo merece una segunda oportunidad, ¿no?

El aislamiento me regaló algo precioso: el hiperfoco. Ese momento en el que el mundo se difumina y solo existen tus manos, la pieza que estás creando, y nada más importa.

Este cuaderno es un poco todo eso: búsqueda, sorpresa, emoción. Un lenguaje sin palabras que habla de curiosidad infinita y de esos instantes mágicos en los que todo, por fin, tiene sentido.

Inspiration always starts here. In nature

 I go out to collect leaves, combine colors and shapes… and transform them into these handmade notebooks where each of my pieces is born.

This week I created two Botanical Notebooks inspired by that moment right before autumn: plants, eucalyptus, pine, leaves and flowers I gathered from trees and shrubs. I used mixed techniques between natural printing, my secret technique on paper, and some effects that mimic cyanotype to capture that seasonal transition.

Today I'm showing you Notebook 1: a composition that connects the moon, the leaves, and that visual journey from spring into the depth of autumn. 🍂🌙

La inspiración siempre empieza aquí. En la naturaleza.

Salgo a recoger hojas, combino colores y formas… y las transformo en estos cuadernos hechos a mano donde nace cada una de mis piezas.

Esta semana he creado dos Botanical Notebooks inspirados en ese momento justo antes del otoño: plantas, eucalipto, pino, hojas y flores que fui recogiendo de árboles y arbustos. Usé técnicas mixtas entre estampación natural, mi técnica secreta sobre papel, y algunos efectos que imitan la cianotipia para capturar esa transición estacional.

Hoy te enseño el Cuaderno 1: una composición que conecta la luna, las hojas y ese viaje visual desde la primavera hacia la profundidad del otoño. 🍂🌙
